Abstract

This article highlights the design aspects of the electrical distribution system in the new Canadian Broadcasting Centre, located in the city of Toronto. The method of distributing the power throughout this large and complex building, its expected power consumption, and the different types of electrical loads that must be supplied by the electrical system, are described. The production lighting control facilities in the television studios and in the Glenn Gould radio studio are also discussed, as well as the rigging facilities for lighting and staging in the TV studios.
