Abstract

Abstract In Chapter 11, the author describes the third logistical campaign of the First Indochina War, which encompassed the battles for control of the lines of communication, particularly in Tonkin (fall 1952-May 1954) and the Viet Minh invasion of Laos (April 1953). Also discussed in this chapter are French convoy operations by land and water, traffic regulation, and efforts to interdict Viet Minh movements by French air and ground forces and the countermeasures employed by the Viet Minh.
