Abstract
During 3-D geoelectric modeling by finite difference method, it is inevitable to solve linear equations Ax=b, where A is a large parse matrix. Currently, the incomplete Cholesky conjugate gradient (ICCG) method is a main solver to these linear systems. In this paper, an improved successive over relaxation (MSOR) method, whose factor is dynamically adjusted, is used to solve the linear system generated in the process above. In comparison to the ICCG, both computing time and memory space are reduced to some extent when using MSOR method.
