Abstract
With the rapid technological progress and economic development, human beings have got massive material wealth from the nature, but we have also led to some serious problems which have seriously affected economic and social's sustainable development such as excessive consumption of natural resources, environmental degradation, etc. Ecological footprint model was proposed in recent years and applied to the evaluation of ecological capacity and sustainable development. This paper made a quantitative analysis on sustainable development of ecological environment in Heilongjiang province by using ecological footprint model. The results show that the ecological footprint was greater than the ecological capacity in Heilongjiang province, the ecological deficit reached 2.883286 hm2 in 2009, and the efficiency of resource using was low by the dynamics analysis among ecological footprint, ecological capacity and ecological deficit in 2009, ecological economic is in a state of unsustainable development in Heilongjiang province.
