Abstract

Summary. The history of the Broughton collection in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge is given. The flower pieces by Jan Breughel the Younger, and his painting techniques, are discussed. A collection of plant portraits, thought to be by Benaglia, are described and some examples are illustrated.
