Abstract

SummaryThere are four species of Hapalidae listed in the IUCN Red Data Book (Simon, 1966); Goeldi's monkey Cullimico goeldii, Golden lion marmoset Leontideus rosuliu, Golden‐rumped marmoset Leontideus chrysopygus, and Golden‐headed marmoset Leotztideus chrysomelas. From the Jersey Zoo's experiences with this family, it is felt that if marmosets are fed a well balanced diet and are provided with an exercise potential more in keeping with their activities in the wild state, zoos would have more success with their maintenance and breeding.
