Abstract

Artificial electromagnetic fields (EMF) became well known phenomenon, and there is a high demand for their monitoring, in order to assess compliance with existing legislation and prescribed reference levels. The concept of continuous broadband EMF monitoring has been promoted through the Serbian Electromagnetic Field Monitoring Network — SEMONT, offering constant observation of the EMF strength and corresponding exposure, over an open area and from all surrounding sources. In this paper, the approach of boundary exposure assessment in case of the low-frequency magnetic field strength is presented, regarding broadband monitoring in vicinity of the outdoor electric power substation NS7 — South Telep in the city of Novi Sad. The results of the analysis suggest that the exposure of the general population, in the proximity of this power distribution object, is far below the Serbian prescribed reference levels.
