THE BORDER OF THE GRAND DUCHY OF LITHUANIA WITH LIVONIA IN THE AREA OF DRISVIATY AND BRASLAV (1426)

Abstract

The article analyzes the description of the border between the GDL and Livonia of 1545 (according to the copy of the 18th century), discovered in the Riga archive several years ago. The results of verification of this source and localization of the border line reflected in it in the area of Drisviaty and Braslav are presented. The conclusion is that the description of 1545 is of high reliability and contains valuable information about the border between the GDL and Livonia demarcated during the reign of Grand Duke Vitovt (1426).
