Abstract

This paper suggests that recent residential developments in Bogota, Colombia, which have been built by corporate and public institutions according to the principles of Modernism, tend to transform into the more traditional structures of barrios. The paper concludes that action centred on the intermediate scale of planning calls for more culturally sensitive approaches and the design of adequate guidance and control instruments.
