Abstract

In today's Western world we choose to live our lives without attempting to understand them. We demand instant answers and quick solutions and try to package the process of death and dying into something that it is not. We are moved by emotional and non-rational arguments but do not face issues squarely. We push uncomfortable ideas out of our minds and expect judges to make decisions to justify our actions. A psychiatrist would probably diagnose us as a race of neurotics.
