Abstract

T helper cells were traditionally classified into two types: type 1 (Th1) and type 2 (Th2).In recent years, a new subset of CD4+ T cells was discovered, which can produce interleukin (IL)-17 and is named Th17 cell. Th17 subset plays an important regulatory role in inflammatory response. The eytokines of Th17 such as IL-17 is closely related with infection of protozoon, trematoda, cestode and nematode. In this pa-per recent progress on the role of Th17 cell and its production in the infection of parasites was summarized. Key words: Interleukin-17 ;  Parasite;  Th17 cell
