Abstract

Scientists in a variety of fields are challenging the traditional research model, often characterized as inefficient, closed source, and untrustworthy. The challenge has come in the form of large-scale collaborative efforts to change the way research is conducted, summarized, and communicated. Such “big science” efforts have led to insights not possible at the level of individual studies or systematic reviews. The contributions in this symposium review the computational challenges, analytical challenges, and future possibilities for “big science” in management research in hopes of advancing the “big science revolution.
