Abstract

Abstract Measurements of bending induced losses in matched‐cladding and depressed‐cladding single‐mode fibers with similar 1300‐nm mode field diameters and cutoff wavelengths are reported. It is found that the depressed‐cladding fiber demonstrates better microbending and macrobending performances than the matched‐cladding fiber.
