Abstract

This review analyzes and generalizes the attempts to shape new academic conceptions specific for the Belarusian studies of history in the 2010s that take into consideration the non-unproblematic period when the Belarusian territories were absorbed by Russian Empire (1772-1917). Contemporary Belarusian historians make significant and very interesting efforts to reflect upon the specifics of state management in Belarusian and Lithuanian governorates, the events that the authorities organized to solve the Polish question on different stages, as well as the genesis of the Belarusian national movement and the dynamics of the political activity in the region.
