Abstract

ABSTRACT Conductive education (CE) is an effective educational system to rehabilitate motor disabled people whose disability (dysfunction) was caused by the damage to the central nervous system, mainly at the pre‐, peri‐ or post‐natal period of life. CE was introduced and developed in Hungary in the past half century and became well known worldwide. Many attempts, theories, research initiatives and practices exist, but many of them differ totally from the original source, both in theory and practice. There are preconditions and professional requirements to the successful realization of CE, and there are conditions under which the results of CE are limited. International cooperation, quality management and control have become necessary in order to monitor CE provision because access to the services does not necessarily mean success.
