Abstract
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to describe a new local interlibrary loan (ILL) system between universities in Beijing, China.Design/methodology/approachThe paper provides a descriptive analysis of the BALIS ILL system.FindingsThe paper finds that BALIS ILL has developed rapidly in the past two years but there are still some problems to solve.Originality/valueThis paper will be relevant to librarians interested in resource sharing in China.
