Abstract
A new equation of state (BACKPF) recently proposed for pure fluids has been applied to the vapor—liquid equilibrium of a number of rather different binary mixtures. It is demonstrated that BACKPF is able to predict the phase diagram in qualitative agreement with the data from the pure fluid parameters alone, i.e. without requiring a binary interaction parameter.
