Abstract

Nineteen bands of the B 2Σ +- X 2Σ + system of CdD have been identified in emission between 295 and 385 nm. All bands are strongly red-degraded. Many rotational perturbations have been observed, all of which can be attributed to interactions between the A 2Π and B 2Σ states. The relative positions of the A- and B-state potential curves have been mapped but the perturbations limit the extent of characterization possible for the B state.
