Abstract
The axial current of the strange hadrons is constructed in the generalization of the Skyrme model to SU(3), in which the hyperons are described as bound states of a kaon doublet and a SU(2) soliton. The predicted values of the axial coupling constants for the strangeness-conserving ∑-hyperon decays are fairly close to the empirical values, because the large kaon contribution compensates for the too small contribution from the soliton.
