Abstract

Given the great importance of information technology today in all areas,especially the use of the Internet because of its many facilities, a new type ofcrime was violated that violates the sanctity and privacy of this information via theInternet and they are what is known as scientific plagiarism, scientific theft, orinformation piracy, and that is in The Arab scientific community witnessed thespread of many unhealthy phenomena, the most prominent of which is thescientific theft phenomenon of Arab intellectual production, which has becomeone of the most dangerous negative phenomena experienced by university andresearch societies and institutions in Egypt and the Arab world, and has evenbecome one of The ugliest crimes common in our current society. Which candestroy the entire course of scientific research, and then had a clear impact onthe delay in the classification of Arab universities among the lists of the bestuniversities in the world.In view of the seriousness of this phenomenon, which clarified the extentof ignorance of some researchers about what they do, whether intentionally orunintentionally, the researcher tried in the folds of this study to define what isscientific plagiarism and the difference between it and scientific quotation, as wellas the definition of the program applied to detect scientific plagiarism at MenoufiaUniversity, and the methods and means used for advertising and advertising Theprogram for detecting scientific plagiarism, and how to avoid falling into scientificplagiarism, as well as the difficulties that researchers face when examining theirintellectual production to reveal and determine the percentage of scientificcitation, this researcher has prepared a questionnaire for researchers of all disciplines M. In Menoufia University, as well as through personal interviews anddirect observation, and the questionnaire was distributed to the study sample andrepresentative of all scientific disciplines for all job categories (graduate student,teaching assistant, assistant teacher, teacher, assistant professor, professor),which numbered about (100) researchers, The study reached a set of results, themost important of which is that more than two-thirds of the study sample reportedtheir knowledge of the difference between quotation and plagiarism, and thestudy also demonstrated the presence of statistically significant differences in thescale of knowledge of the difference between plagiarism and quotation inavoiding plagiarism in scientific research with a different degree, as reported (76)Researcher) proportions Its percentage (76%) of the total sample size is that theyare fully aware of the permissible percentage in the process of scientificquotation.
