Abstract

Background: Plastic and reconstructive surgery is a distinct and little-understood surgical subspecialty. Both the general public and professionals are confused about the scope of the specialty. The purpose of this study was to measure the awareness and perception among the general population in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, regarding the discipline of plastic surgery and the non-cosmetic operations performed by plastic surgeons.
