The «Autos Sacramentales» of Lope de Vega: Project for a Critical Edition

Abstract

The critical edition of Lope's autos sacramentales, included in El peregrino en su patria, marks the beginning of a new age in the recovery of a part of Lope's work, his autos sacramentales, quite discredited by critics. The philological notes of the texts, full of cultural, historical, literary and biblical references, may be very helpful to relocate Lope de Vega in a privileged place, denied until now under the shadow of Calderon.
