Abstract

The A.T.R. spectra of the sodium and/or potassium salts of ortho-, hydrogen and dihydrogen phosphates, phosphites, hypophosphites, pyrophosphates and triphosphates have been recorded in aqueous solution in the “rock-salt” region. The PO stretching frequencies of the PO3, PO2, and POP groups have been correlated, and these frequencies used to interpret the vibrational spectrum of penta—sodium triphosphate.
