• A spatial consequence of allocating attention to peripheral locations reflexive shifts of attention to the periphery create errors in the localization of visual stimuli in the direction opposite to the shift (Suzuki & Cavanagh, 1997) • Location : pay attention to the circles – ‘is the top circle to the left or right of the bottom circle?’ • Object : pay attention to the diamond – ‘is the diamond tilted to the left or to the right?’
