Abstract
The Manitoba II high resolution mass spectrometer has been used to determine the mass difference 28Si 2 16O 35Cl 37Cl to be 14013.07 (70 μn. When this value is combined with existing precise values for the other atomic masses in the doublet, the atomic mass of 28Si is found to be 27.976 926 88 (35) u.
