Abstract
The University of Maryland at College Park, with the support of AT&T, has designed and constructed a classroom where technology is used to promote teaching and learning. That is, the focus is on teaching and learning, not on the technology; the computers, networking, and audio/visual equipment are simply a means to help accomplish effective learning. The result is called the AT&T Teaching Theater: "Using technology to transform lectures and learning."
