Abstract

The solution to this problem is based on Barenblatt’s postulates. The sought asymptotic is obtained as a solution to the problem of a semi-infinite cohesive crack in the plane. It is assumed that the magnitude of the adhesion forces changes linearly with the crack opening. The problem of finding the distribution of adhesion forces along the crack length is reduced in this case to the Fredholm integral equation. The length of the cohesive zone is defined as the solution to a nonlinear eigenvalue problem.
