The association between traumatic birth events and opioid relapse after delivery

Abstract

Opioid overdose has emerged as the top cause of pregnancy-related death in some states, including Florida. Traumatic birth events (TBE) are associated with postpartum posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. We sought to examine the association between TBE and opioid relapse in the first year after delivery.
