Abstract

(Am J Obstet Gynecol. 2017;216(3):300.e1–300.e5) Intrauterine balloon tamponade (IUBT) has been shown to be an effective treatment for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) when first-line treatments fail, but the optimal duration of IUBT with regard to PPH-related outcomes remains unknown. The authors undertook the present study to determine whether IUBT duration is associated with PPH-related outcomes, hypothesizing an association between a longer duration of IUBT and increased effectiveness in the management of PPH.
