Abstract

The paper contains a description of the secondary textiles used in what was the German Democratic Republic: conveyor belts, drying meshes, drying felts and tubular belts. Mechanical properties of these materials are proved in load extension tests and typical tensile strain lines are shown. Creep behaviour of the secondary textiles is analysed by short time creep test and is compared with test data of long time creep tests. Stress-strain behaviour obtained in pull-out tests should be considered when applying reinforcing elements from these materials.
