Abstract

As the name implies, The Asian Skin: A Reference Color Atlas of Dermatology is an amazingly well-compiled color atlas with brief overviews of dermatoses often seen in the Asian population. To date, dermatologic textbooks have primarily focused on the differences between black and white skin, often ignoring a comprehensive overview of skin of color. The US Census Bureau reports that the current Asian and Latino population growth surpasses that of both blacks and whites. At the current growth rate, the US non-white population will approach 50% by the year 2050.
