Abstract

AbstractThis photograph was taken in a public military plaza in Mexico City. Here stands an exhibit of decommissioned weapons from Mexico's Drug Wars shaped to represent each Mexican state. I argue that these sculptures illustrate the racial process of mestizaje, but infuses it with a new dimension: militarization.
