Abstract
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual/transgender, intersex and queer (LGTBIQ+) people en-dure lifelong discrimination which renders them vulnerable to many forms of gender and sexual violence. This problem nevertheless remains poorly recognized, and few effective and respectful interventions therefore exist for resolving and / or confronting it. In this article, we will analyze gender and sexual violence against the LGTBIQ+ community in university context, revealing to what extent academic institutions assume their social re-sponsibilities in relation to such violence. In addition, we will reflect on the contribution of European and Spanish macro policies, orientated towards the protection of LGTBIQ+ people, to the lack of micro-level protections within the university. To conclude, we will evidence the importance of articulating an explicit and direct commitment to ensuring the university becomes an inclusive, respectful and safe space for all.

En España, a inicios de 2019 se produjo un alto número de violaciones y agresiones sexuales, varias de las cuales contra menores y realizadas en grupo (Brandariz, 2019), así como siete feminicidios en 17 días (De Diego, 2019)
Un documento clave en este sentido han sido publicado recientemente: la Guía por la incorporación de la diversidad sexual y de género en las Universidades Catalanas (Coll-Planas, Verge, Prieto y Caballé, 2018)
Summary
Resumen Las personas gais, lesbianas, bisexuales, transexuales/transgénero, intersexuales y queer (LGTBIQ+) se enfrentan a continuas discriminaciones que las convierten en vulnerables frente a las violencias de género y sexuales. Este problema sigue estando escasamente reconocido y son pocas las intervenciones respetuosas y efectivas impulsadas para enfrentarlo. Analizaremos el caso específico de las violencias de género y sexuales hacia el colectivo LGTBIQ+ en contextos universitarios, para detectar de qué manera y en qué grado estas instituciones asumen o no su responsabilidad social al respecto. Reflexionaremos sobre las influencias de las macro políticas europeas y españolas orientadas hacia la protección de las personas LGTBIQ+ frente a la falta de amparo a nivel micro en las universidades. Concluiremos evidenciando la importancia de asumir un compromiso explícito y directo para conseguir que la universidad sea un espacio inclusivo, respetuoso y seguro para todes
