Abstract

To figure out the cause of the phenomenon of indoor spatial disorientation and its' spatial characteristics during an evacuation, this study proposed a new method to analyze the process of escape movement of VR experiment objects based on the spatial visual information analysis tool, Isovist app. This study applied analysis software, Isovist app [1], to explore the visual character of its location during escaping. Through this visual analysis tool, the visible character of the space under the user's moving paths at different times can be calculated. We can further analyze the relationship between the visual character of the movement paths of escaping process, such as hesitation, pause, etc. And then, we take an existing space, after 3D scanning the space and converting it into a 3D model, as a VR scene to perform the VR escape experiment. Finally, this article analyzes the total experiment moving evacuation routes while escaping.
