Abstract

Taking the air-conditioning project applied in the gymnasium of Shandong Jiaotong University located in Changqing Area as an example, and based on the analysis of the current development situation of Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP hereafter) in China, this article elaborates the types and technical features of GSHP, and introduces the engineering applications of Ground Coupled Heat Pump (GCHP), making comparisons with the economical index applied in traditional air-conditioning.Judging from the results of economic analysis, and compared with various other air-conditioning heat supply methods, applying GSHP to this project will incur 3.808 million yuan more initial investment and 108.1 yuan more investment per square meters than the situation where water-cooling machine units with matching gas furnace is applied, however, the annual operating cost and investment per square meter in the former situation is 0.5359 million yuan and 15.31 yuan less than that of the latter, respectively, and the exceeding investment in the former can be recovered within 7.1 years; the initial investment when applied with GSHP is 1.306 million yuan more than when water-cooling machine units with matching city heat net is applied, with 36.6 yuan more per square meter, but the annual operating cost and investment per square meter in the former is 0.9755 million and 27.87 yuan less than the latter, with the investment capital collectable within 1.3 year.
