Abstract

As Web services are the hotspot technology in heterogeneous application, Web services distributed management (WSDM) specification is being the focus one in the management domain. With its well-defined and extensible manageability capabilities applied for various network resources, we improved our originally proposed TcpSocket-based Topology Management System (TMS) in distributed WAN. Under the Ethernet LAN as our experimental environment, we compare the two design schemes in this paper. The response time of an operation for getting topology graph data is measured for topology services performance analysis. Further, each response times in the two architectures is measured and discussed. WSDM brings us a loosely coupling distributed TMS which is user-friendly and performs better than TcpSocket-based one under large number of LANs (ATM, Ethernet, etc.) in a WAN.
