Abstract

Objective To introduces the functions and characteristics of the CEREC Bluecam digital impressions, and to study its application in orthodontic models measurements. Methods 36 non-extraction patients were selected and the dental models and CEREC Bluecam digital impressions of them were made. The dental crown width, height and arch width of every dental model were measured. The CEREC Bluecam digital impressions were measured, too. The repeatability by CEREC Bluecam digital impressions measurements were made. The data was analyzed by SPSS 18.0. Results There is no statistical significant differences of the arch width, dental crown width and height measurements data between the dental models and CEREC Bluecam digital impressions (P>0.05). The repeatability of measurement by CEREC Bluecam digital impressions were favorable (P>0.05). Conclusions The dental cast models can be replaced by CEREC Bluecam digital impressions in orthodontic model measurements. Duo to its high efficiency and convenience, the CEREC Bluecam digital impressions showed a wide-range prospect in orthodontic clinic application.
