Abstract
It is shown that the application of Ricci-calculus to the elastic vibrationand piezo-electric equations yields results,which can be readily interpreted. The wave equation is derived from the general equation of motion. The equations are worked out for Y-cut (30°-cut) plates and for Yϑ-cut plates. In particular the so called AC-cut plate is examined.
