Abstract

Most visual art of the future will be painted by light. -Laszl6 Moholy-Nagy Our stormy age has raised many questions, one of which involves the relationship between modern science and art. Many people think that science and art are in contradiction. This feeling is based on two arguments: first, that modern science is a threat to mankind, with art unable to block this threat; second, that science and art are developing in opposite directions. Neither of these arguments is supported by fact. Science and art have, perhaps, never been as close to each other as they are now. Both are creative disciplines; both have the tendency to synthesize.
