Abstract

Geological disaster investigation and characteristic analysis play an important role in disaster prevention and mitigation. By now, landslide investigations still rely on traditional field survey, which is expensive and inefficient. In this paper, we discuss the method by using high resolution satellite stereo pairs for landslide investigation and characteristic analysis. In the propose approach, IKONOS stereo pairs with rational function model and topographic map were used to obtain digital elevation model before and after the landslide happened. This paper takes Wenjiagou landslide as research object, calculates the scope and the volume of the landslide using the technique of remote sensing images 3D techniques, and analyzes the flat and stereoscopic features in the end.
