Abstract

A review is made of creep cracking test results analysed using various parameters such as the stress intensity factor, net section stress, crack opening displacement and deformation energy rate. Theoretical predictions of creep crack growth rate on the basis of creep laws are discussed. Creep crack growth due to vacancy diffusion and condensation is considered. Analytical treatments are reviewed. A new solution is presented.
