Abstract

A landslide can be considered as incompressible fluid with high viscidity in view of their characteristics of materials and movements.Such governing equations as mass conservation law, momentum conservation law, constitutive equation and other state equations were established to describe the landslide motion.Based on these equations and FVM(Finite Volume Method),a special 3-D numerical modeling program was designed to simulate the dynamic movement of landslides.Using the grogram,a landslide of a hydropower station located at upstream of the Yellow river was modeled to predict its dynamic movement features and deposit scope and to guide the plan and design of the project.
