Abstract

A new dental panoramic x-ray machine, the GE-3000, represents another step forward in dental pantomography. The fundamental difference between the GE-3000 and earlier machines lies in the movement of the rotational axis of the tube head cassette holder assembly. The ability to change the rotational axis path permits the operator to select the layer for tomographic examination, and preselection of layers through the zygomatic arch, sinuses, and other structures is now feasible.
