Abstract

The importance of human factors in nuclear power plant central control room (CCR) design is well recognised. British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) has gone beyond the now 'normal' design process incorporating human factors, and has invested in the development and application of virtual reality (VR). The focus of this paper is the design of the Sellafield Mox Plant (SMP) CCR, from the design phase through to commissioning.
