Abstract

[Objective] Explore the application and significance of the three-dimension printing technology in surgery by building a path of 3-D printing assisting in orthopedic surgery. [Method] choose one patient with deformity of lower limb bone, then take advantage of reverse engineering and 3-D printing technology to get the 3-D reconstruction of patients' lower limb bones, then make it into the 1:1 size model. That is used to develop a plan of operation and preoperative simulation operation. [Result] What can be found in the Intraoperative are exactly the same as the abnormal findings and the measured results of the model. It shows that the operation was running smoothly, with No Complications and Postoperative bone healing well. [Conclusion] 3-D printing technology can let Orthopaedic surgeons well-understand the deformity of lower limb bone deformities in preoperative accuracy and intuition, improve the diagnostic rate, guide the operation plan and simulate the operation. In conclusion, this can help increase such surgeries' accuracy and security.
