Abstract

Objective To investigate the application effect of 2 ml injection syringe (bonegrafting instrument) in intervertebral bone graft in spine, to reduce the time and improve the precision of bone grafting. Methods 50 patients who underwent intervertebral bone graft in our hospital from July to December, 2016 were chosen and were divided into experimental group (2 ml injection syringe bone graft group) and control group (traditional hemostatic forceps placement bone graft method). Compared the time of bone grafting, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative volume of drainage, the length of stay. Results The total time of bone grafting in the experimental group was (21.9±4.2) s, while that in the control group was (153.6±5.3) s, with statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The mass of bone grafting by transparent injection syringe was clear in ml. The intraoperative blood loss was (225.0±8.2) ml in the experimental group and (287.0±7.3) ml in the control group, the postoperative volume of drainage was (182.0±6.1) ml in the experimental group and (194.0±3.5) ml in the control group, the length of stay was (12.8±2.5) days in the experimental group and (13.2±1.3) days in the control group, with statistically significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The time of bone grafting, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative volume of drainage, the length of stay in the experimental group were better than those in the control group. The use of self-made 2 ml bonegrafting instrument of our hospital has saved the time of bone grafting, has reduced the intraoperative blood loss and postoperative volume of drainage, and has reduced the average length of hospital stay. Key words: Intervertebral bone graft; 2 ml injection syringe; Bone grafting time; Intraoperative blood loss
