Abstract

The general objective of the present study was to analyze the applicability of the guidelines of the National Comprehensive Health Policy for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals (PNSI LGBT+), in the Primary Care Units and Family Health Program agreed with the University of Ribeirão Preto (UNAERP) in the city of Ribeirão Preto. In view of the demands and peculiarities inherent to the LGBT+ public, and the importance of welcoming and humanizing, the study aimed to research the training of professionals in the Primary Care Units and the Family Health Program in serving the LGBT+ public. Professionals answered a questionnaire containing 8 questions in line with (PNSI LGBT). This study allowed the identification of the application of educational actions in the routines of health services aimed at promoting self-esteem among LGBT+ people, and the elimination of prejudice for sexual orientation.
