Abstract

In this paper we show how a face detection software can be used to render the appearance of a person portrayed in an ancient marble bust as an individual portrayed in a photo. Here we consider some busts of Roman emperors using a freely available software, the In20years. The results we obtain are so effective that we can conclude, besides the versatility of the used software, that the artists of the Roman Empire gave to their busts those traits that today are considered by the biometric methods.
