Abstract
Starting from simple gas mixtures (CH4, NH3, H2O) suggested as being models of the primeval atmosphere for certain time periods, we succeded in synthesizing functional and structural protobiopolymers. Methane rich atmosphere led to lipid-like hydrophobic products which selfassemble in stable uniform sized microspheres, carrying membrane-like properties.
