Abstract

We have studied the initiation, evolution, and structure of shock waves as the main antimicrobial factor of a high-power electric discharge in water. The shock wave structure is studied in a plane one-dimensional approximation using a system of generalized equations of hydrodynamics proposed by Alekseev. Possible mechanisms of the shock-wave-induced degradation of microorganisms are considered.
